Hi folks.

I am needing to get a new filter. i have a juewl trigon 190 corner tank. i am planning on getting malawi chichlids. i am not a big fan of the internal filters as they look un-sightly plus would they even do enough liters per hour?

i had a fluval 205 liter pump but i was told that this would not be big enough for malwi's.

i am just wondering does anyone have any suggestions on what pump to get.

p.s. im not made of money lol

thanks robaidh

I have a fluval 405 for sale, check my fs thread. Sure that would be enough turn over for your tank.

I would definitely go for an external.

Something rated for a 350-400 litre tank should be big enough I would have thought, without being far too strong and pushing your fish down one end! I have a Eheim Classic 2217 on my 200l which is nice (plus a small internal to get the flow going round from the other end). I also have an Eheim Eco Pro and a Fluval 405 on my 240l, and I would recommend them as they are self-priming so are easier to get started after maintenance than the Classic.
