What Filter For A Small Tank?

I looking at setting up a second smaller fish tank for my study and was thinking what filter would be best for it. It's an 18"x12"x12" (Its around 36ltrs) and I'm not sure weather to go for a fuval 2 or something like an undergravel system with a powerhead.

you can make one

air pump,
old fish food container ( tall)
small amount of gravel
airline and pump
floss

have a search for DIY filter, bet you have all of the above laying about

For my tank of similar dimensions I made one. Otherwise a fluval 1+ or Interpet PF1 would be good.

Yup - I've just got a fluval 1+ in my 35L and it works a treat
Got it for a bargain too lol because it was unpackaged
