I use a Nutrafin co2 system with home brew ingredients and dose daily with TPN+ which as long as you can afford it seems to do wonders.

thanks for the reply, i've been looking at TPN and TPN+

i dont know which to buy as
TPN is for few plants and alot of fish
TPN+ is for alot of plants and low fish
but i have high (fully stocked) fish and will have medium to high plants

Ed green - i thought you were only suppose to dose weekly?

that is a general guideline, if you have 5wpg, few plants, lots of fish then the chances are they wont produce enough nutrients, so you will still need the TPN+ to cover NO3 & PO4.

what wattage are your tubes? And what is the diameter?

Again, dosing weekly depends on the lighting, on low light tanks growth is slow so you may need a weekly dose, on high light tanks you may need daily.

Ebay is the cheapest. Aqua essentials work on ebay and they decanter big bottle of TPN+ into smaller bottles.
It comes in a plain bottle, not boxed, but you can save yourself about £3.

I dose 3ml a day into my 35L tank. Small amounts daily has got to be better than one large influx of ferts. Also its a young tank and so I change the water regularly, daily dosing means less is lost in my water changes?
