Looks like lately my bumblebee gobies have been bored with what I'm feeding them (flakes, live and frozen brine shrimp, frozen bloodworms). What else can I add to their diet? I'm looking for something I could easily get off Aquabid.

My damn supermarket only sells cooked prawns, no raw ones...i need to hike to the Chinese Supermarket lol

Mine do go nuts for live brineshrimp though :D

Cooked are fine. That's what mine get. A bag of the 'Tesco Value Prawns' for £2.50 lasts a couple of months and seems to satisfy gobies, catfish, puffers, glassfish, etc. Actually, they get a bit bored with them after a while, so I have to alternate with other stuff. But as a cheap source of protein, they can't be beat.

Cheers, Neale

I had no idea you could feed them cooked prawns etc....I was always under the impression that there was more nutrition in raw stuff and that the fish stomach couldnt digest cooked stuff aswell.

If thats the case then Value Prawns here we come lol, save me a small fortune on Tiger Prawns and chopping them up.

I dare say raw prawns are better. But so long as you're alternating between different foods through the week, I'm sure it's fine to use cooked prawns. I've been using cooked prawns for as long as I've been keeping fish. I tend to use them for one meal per day, and the other will be flake or bloodworms or something live from the garden.

Cheers, Neale

excellent, thatll save me a small fortune, aswell as the baffled look i get everytime i hack up a 4" Tiger Prawn, defrost it then give it to the fish rather than have it myself lol
