ok went out and got 12 red eye tetra for my community tank what else should i add? the dimmensions are 36"x24"x14"

Maybe some cory cats depending on your substrate? Or some Kuhlis?

Some Honey gourami's?
Bolivian Rams?

You could probably get a small school of little tetras like neons, cardinals, glowlights or black neons. I would suggest some honey gouramis or a bolivian ram or two if you can get a pair.

might want to mix it up tho (ex. 5 cory cats, 7 loaches, 1 plec, etc)

IMO striped kuhli loaches look much much better than any cories, and plecs. Also you can have more loaches than larger cories, and all plecs as they usually have a smaller bioload

Ye true once the corys get bigger theres a problem. Always think a pleco completes an aquarium tho maybe thats just me
