What Else Can I Add To My Tank If Anything At All.

Hello

i have a 5ft 400 L tank which has been running for a few months now
i have quite alot of wood and fake plants in there and a few caves but was interested in knowing other peoples oppinions on whether or not i could add anything else to the tank

current stocking is

1 sev (3")
6 bosemani rainbows
4 angels
9 gold tetras
10 neon tetras
9 rummy nose tetras
3 pearl danios
7 corys
5 BNs (tiny. am waiting to sex them. once i can do that i will leave maybe 2f 2m if i can)
5 loaches (the names have completely gone out of my head)
1 flying fox

not sure if you can add anything else yet but im suprised your neon tetras have lasted normally the angels eat them

I think you have space in the bottom level of your tank. Your mid level is quite full with your tetras and rainbows etc. but you definitively could add more cories. Or maybe some dwarf cichlids?

The angels are pretty small at the moment. and when i brought the neons i brought them at quite an adult size so am hoping that the angels and tetras get used to eachother so the angels dont end up eating them.

i would like to add maybe a pair of rams. and maybe a garra. or instead of them would i be ok adding a pair of firemouths with the stock that i have.

Angels will eat them if they can fit them in their mouth, so might be a risk when they're fully grown... you could add a red severum (same risk as angels) but would add a nice colour contrast into the mix

I would go for the pair of rams. They go nicely with the tetras, are beautiful and are bottom level fish.

until u can identify ur loaches, i think u have quite enough fish to be getting on with.

2 botia stratia (i think thats how you spell it)
2 clown loaches although i only ever see 1 out at a time. im thinking the rams would be a good addition.

I find that expensive. The albinos here cost me about 1.5 USD each... And there so many nice cories around. Why don't you have a look on aquabid? There they have a section just for corys.

2 clown loaches although i only ever see 1 out at a time. im thinking the rams would be a good addition.

I would up the number of botias, as they like to be in groups. That is probably the reason why you hardly eer see the clown loach. I love the zebra loaches (botia stratia), they are such cute and lively fish!

Thanks. thats what i was thinking. i thought they seem a little shy but im guessing if i add more then they may be out and about alot more. around mean corys are only a couple of pounds for the albino corys.

so if i up the clown loaches to 5 and get 2 rams. would that be pushing it or not. i am running an xp3 external filter on the tank. with one basket full of ceramic rings

You are not overfiltered with this filter. With fake plants you are pushing it. If you would have real plants, a lot of the fish waste would be consumed by your plants and I would feel more confident (also in terms of hiding places)to add the rams. For now I would suggest you change the clown loaches for 3 more zebra loaches. CLown loaches get much bigger than zebras...

if thats the only filter your running on that tank then your seriously under filtered i wouldnt add anything else untill you increase your flow rate to 1600lph at least really you need to be looking at 2000lph
