As the topic says what do you use for a background for your tank? I've heard construction paper but I'd think from up close you would see the seams. I assume most of you make backgrounds seeing as how the only ones I see for sale are for small 10-20 gal tanks.

nope.... they sell them by the role were i live... or if you just ger regular blue you just buy 2-3 and stick them together

Black paper, it works pretty good but you have to change every so often.

I use enlarged panoramic pictures that I took when I went to the Amazon. No, that's a lie. :shifty: I buy the backgrounds. However, the used 20g(L) I have already has a pre-painted non-reflective blue background. It was the one the store used.

I tape black refuse sacks to the back of the tanks, works for me.

I'm using aluminum foil at the moment.
eeeuuww.... got a pic?
No pic yet. I was at the store and contemplated getting a black commercially produced background but then my thrift and laziness got the better of me. I think it looks alright. When I finally rig up the new lighting and plant the tank I might think differently...

I painted a faux Van Gogh painting for the back of my betta tank, Used Blue Gel Acrylic (made for theater lights) for the back of my 12 gallon....and baught the background for my 55 gallon for 6 bux.

It's fun to make your own background--you feel like you "got away with something" :p
