hmm ok thanks, how will i tell if it's a male then because id say mine looks the same as yours. when i bought her i specifically asked if they were sure they were females and they said yes. i have 6 females in the tank though and none of them are ripped to pieces and the tank is well planted with lots of hidy holes so that might help.

Dont panic over it though, cus yours may well be deffo female Its not unusual for lfs to sell juvenile males as females without knowing. Thats how i ended up with this one.........along with 3 others lol

There will be a certain amount of bickering between females. He was ok to start with, but after a couple of months maturing he suddenly started getting very aggressive. We ended up putting him in a floating see-through container, which is where he built a bubble nest and started to show his full flare.

I promise you, you will know if this happens. So for now just enjoy them

Thats definantly a male! It has the same identical body type and fins as my male PK Shimmer. I bought him as a female and he turned out to be male. It also has the same white tips on the fins hanging down under the head. I would say def male PK.

Shimmers head...you can see the similarities in the fins..

White tips on the ventrals don't definitely mean a male, I have females with teh same marking. What you have to watch for is the LENGTH of the ventrals. In the female they are usually about the same length as the lowest point on the anal fin. In the male they are nearly always longer. Shimmer's are at least double the length of the back of the anal fin.
A really strongly pointed anal fin is also a sign of a male, usually a female's is less slanted and may curve a little from front to back, a male's may be three times the length at the front than it is at the back.

Lol yeah i know they arent always male with those markings. Was just saying the markings are the same. Shimmer is somewhat older than the fish in question He was tiny when i got him and in a female tank
