What Do They Look Like Help Please

hi,
I have/had a pregnant guppy i thought she had dropped fry i couldnt see any but she went thin again but now she has just got a big stomach still 5 days later and she still looks pregant can anyone help what do they look like.

How dark is her gravid spot? Can you see the frys' eyes? If both of those apply, she's pretty close. However, since you said she went thin and now she's fat, are you sure it's pregnancy? Could she have dropsy, or be bloated or constipated? What are your water stats? And any chance of a picture?

i can see little black eyes less than before but she is/was defently pregnant. I think here gravid spot is really dark but i am not sure what u lot mean by dark.Could she have been constipated because of her pregnancy.

She may have just had a few then. Sometimes they spread the birthing period out over a few days. Keep an eye on her, and just make sure she's acting normal.

Sure. The gravid spot is a dark spot (Usually, sometimes it's reddish or yellowish depending on the color of the Platy) where the tail joins the body. A little behind the anal fin. The babies develop in there, so when it gets darker, you're seeing the fry and their eyes developing. Now, just because they have a gravid spot doesn't mean they are pregnant. All females will have one, as that's where they store the sperm and the eggs and such. But when it's dark, it ususally means they are.

If you go here, and scroll down, you can see a Guppy picture. See the darkish spot near her tail? That's a gravid spot.

i no what a graid spot is. She was reddish but it has gone since she go slimmer. It has a little red stil on the bottom but she is shooting up and down the glass rubbing agsainst it. I was told that they will go up and down the glass when they are within a few hours of dropping. What should she look like when shhe has dropped fully.

What color fish is she? And can you describe the rubbing against the glass more? Is she flicking? Most importantly, what exactly are your water stats?

She should be fairly thin with not much coloring to her gravid spot when she's done.
