im gona be getting a book but im wondering what stuff do i need for a 20 gallon or 29 gallon tank what can i get(clowns are cool but its ok if i cant do them) about what is the aproxment price of everything, what one fish can i get

I don't know about sea-water tanks, but 20 gallons sounds too small. They usually recommend 200 liters at minimum (~50 us/uk gal) for beginners.

You can make a 20 gal sw tank work but you have to be extreamly careful , the small volume of water makes in unstable. I would do alot of reading first. The lfs has several micro reef tanks set up that are very cool, but delicate.

A pair of false percula clowns would be perfect for a 29g.

Are you wanting corals or just fish only? This will make a huge diffrence in cost of set-up.

I feel that a 29 gallon tank is rather small. If I had to recommend a tank size, I would say to get at least 40 gallons (if space is not a problem). You could get clownfish for a 29 gallon tank, but be sure that you get a mated pair. This means that they have to be male or female, or gathered from the same place as juveniles. Make sure that they're the same species! If they're not, they will fight and attempt to kill each other. Be sure that the tank is ready before adding any fish. This means that you will need a test kit, to ensure that the water quality is good enough for them before adding fish.
