So i have decided to start a tropical fish tank, what do i need??

A filter
A Heater
Gravel/Sand
Air Pump

What else do i need? do i need any special chemicals for the water or anything like that? i am a new starter never done this thing before so i will take all help given! :D thanks

You don't need an air pump? If you get a decent filter air pumps are pretty much useless unless you like the effect.

You need some water conditioner. This removes the chlorine and other chemicals from the water to make it safe for the aquarium.

I really recommend that you read the how to cycle section in the beginners section. Its essential in my opinion and people who don't have a good understanding of that often come back with dead fish.

Tank
Filter
Heater

Thats all you need, ofcourse you might want to concider;

Air Pump
Lights
Substrate
Hardscape (rocks/wood)
Plants (fake/real)

Ye i have read all the sections on how to cycle and everything i have a question...how the hell would you measure 7ml of ammonia to put into your tank!? it sounds like an impossible to me! but im new to all of this! i think when it comes to plants id go for fake ones as this seems easier for me!
