Hi All

erm...what am I to do with all the babies my fish have had? I cant keep them all as I only have one tank. and what about interbreeding? If I keep some surely they will mate with their brothers/sisters/aunts and uncles...will I end up with some fish with 3 heads? (and playing the banjo)

Thanks
Anna -_-

u could try your local pet store they might take some off your hands  they did with mine.
how old are they and what colours are they because if they are pretty looking fish alot of people will take them off your hands im sure of that.

they havent got any colour at all yet as they are newborn. If I can find a shop that I would be happy to leave my fish with, then I will do that.

What about the interbreeding aspect- is it a problem?

Thanks
Anna

it can be a problem but i have had interbreeding and nothing is wrong with them

I think you all are confusing interbreeding with inbreeding. Inbreeding is when brothers/sisters/fathers/mothers breed. Interbreeding usually refers to mating two different colors or types together. Inbreeding will become a problem, eventually. I believe it takes about 5+ generations for it to show, but a lot of the fish you get at fish stores are already inbred. Inbreeding can cause problems, such as deformed fry and such. It also causes fish to be weaker, and have less immunity.

As Guppy_man said, try checking out your LFS, or perhaps post them on here. Or depending where you are, check out Spooky's fish rescue in the Buy, Sell, and Swap area. Good luck!
