What Compatible With Gar

TBH, a gar should not be a in a 75G. This may be fine for now, but as the gar grows, it will need much more room. The smallest species of gar are the spotted and shortnose gar, both able to reach sizes of atleast 30" when adults... so you need a tank that is atleast 36" wide for the fish to turn (as this fish is not a bendible species and has a very rigid backbone, unlike species like arowana that can almost double back on their bodies), and 4x that, or 120" long for the fish to live for life. True, in aquaria, this fish will not reach monstorous sizes recorded in the wild, but I would still count on the gar getting to atleast 24" as an adult....

So I would be worried about this more than what fish to keep with it. Sorry if you dont like to hear this.....
