i was wondering what do you guys think about these clowns..
1. Tomato Clownfish
2. Maroon Clownfish
3. Percula Clownfish

I really like all 3 but can only get one kind? so whats everyone's fav's

thanks!

Depends on tank size...For sure maroon and tamatoe clowns are agressive. I would go with the safer choice which is the Percula :good:

If you have a 30gal+ tank then go for the maroon for sure. They are soooo beautiful and such characters

But they are very territorial and can rearrange your rockwork to suit them

Personally I like my perc's, I like the thicker black lines between the orange and white. One of mine has quite a large amount of black on his front as you see from my avatar, which I really like. Loads of character too.

allthough maroons are one of my favorite clowns, i recomend percs or ocellaris.

Maroons are by far my favourite. I'm stuck with two Ocellaris' right now; not that I resent them, just that I'd rather have Maroons.

maroon clowns are nice but can get aggresive
dont know much about tomato
but my favourite has got 2 b percula clown fish :hyper:

well tank size is no problem.. i have a 77 gallon bowfront tank (just finished getting all my live rock) :hyper:

so i think my fist fish(s) will be a clown.. can i get a pear of maroon's.. I here they fight?

Hm, well if you want to get a pair of maroons be warned that most of the time they dont tolerate eachother that much atleast thats what i've read. :good:

Percula clown fish are one of the saltwater fish that I breed. One thing I've noticed (since most are only available tank raised at LFS) The adults that are tank raised do not play in anemones (sp?) I have babies that bounce in and about a green buble carpet that I have in the breeding tank, but tank raised perculas that have not been around them, wont play in them. As for maroons I've seen them interact with anemones. (not too many tank raised available) My favorites are the black clown fish, and all the skunk clownfish. It is possible to breed perculas, if that is something that you'd like to experience. Do some research, very interresting sex changing fish.

you cannot mix the types of clownfish together otherwise there fight and if you get a maroon ur best just keeping 1 maroon
so if u buy a pair of perculas your have them swimming together
also i read on sineads thread somewere that her maroon turned a bit visous and killed 1 of her fish

hum.. i also have been looking at Cinnamon Clownfish to.. anyone know anything about them??
