Okay and would Angel fish be okay with Silver Dollars? Becasue those are one of my favorite?
I believe SDs are like lawn-mowers to live plants. :/

I believe it too , no .....I've witnessed decimation of plants by silver dollars , more like lumber jacks , and swimming round the tank with stalks in their mouths

There are other types of dwarf or smaller medium sized cichlids out there as well , Keyholes were mentioned , festivum , curviceps , nannacara for example .
Also there are some west African river cichlids that could work for you , They behave similarly to many new worlds , and can share the tank with some new worlds as well , these being the krib species Plevicachromis and Anolmalochromis thomosi .

I my experience with convicts , they loved to dig , or move the substrate into piles , or just move it where they saw fit , even at 1 1/2 " , never tried them with plants for that reason .They are worth keeping though

no fire mouths, tetras would be fine, but it would depend on the species of cichlid you want to go with and how many.
why no firemouths, theyd be fine, acually they would be awsome

except the angels, and rams.... :X i think they still would work

So firemouths wouldnt be good with angels and Rams?...I know this is an odd ball question but how about black ghost knife fish I love those things!

IMO firemouths would be just too much of a gamble with angels and rams, as for the black ghost knife fish can't really give alot of info on them again never having kept them
