Hey, I just want to know what cichlids would be good for my tank, moderately to heavily planted, I like Angel fish and German Blue Rams, So what other cichlids would be good for this tank I really love color and dwarf cichlids are good if the dont get any bigger than 6 inches....please tell me if you have any ideas for this tank!!!! THANKS!!!!

well with the fact that it is planted and it sounds like you want to keep it that way so like you stated apistos, rams angels are all good, another possibility would be discus.

Clown loaches would be ok for about a decade before they would need to be moved to a larger tank :) Apistos are awesome fish, if you can get them, go for them

In my area it is almost impossible to find apistos, would you suggest a nice schooling fish such as phantom tetras or black tetras also!?

my other suggestion and I am not 100% about this one is Keyholes, as I don't own them( not agressive enough)

no fire mouths, tetras would be fine, but it would depend on the species of cichlid you want to go with and how many.

i'd get a pair of blue rams and a pair of gold rams, maybe another pair of whatever ram you like best or keep the slot open in case you can find some apistos.
That plus a large school of whatever small tetra you like and maybe even some corydoras catfish.

Cons? The only problem would be if they bred, they would become super territorial. A good fish to go with your selection is the Silver Dollar. I think a nice school of 3-5 would do fine in a 55g.
