hi i have a tropical tank with
8 tiger barbs
6 cheery barbs
5 silver sharks
2 black widows
4 mollies and heaps more
i used ot ahve a walkign fish in my tank and alot of my fish went missing...i,e when i put my tetrras in there they all disaperad...but the barbs were like attacking them and sticking half of them in there mouths....do u think i could get more? and do mollies breed?and do they have to be the same colour?also i noticed all the petshops ahve the same fish.......in the tropical fish section there only seems to be a handful of fish and they r al the same colour..why cant u get lime green and baby blue ones

what size is your tank???

siver shark grow massive....

tiger barbs are visious fish I had to get rid of mine as there ate all my small neons. there teritorial and very fast, you've already said they ate your tetras so why would you go to even more expense providing them with more "fast food"

mollys are livebearers and to my knowledge they'll breed with other colours...

as for lime green fish.... same goes why cant you get bright pink tigers!!! the colour reflecs there natural environment. there are some fish that are baby blue but thats only cause there fed food that's covered in dye.... and saying that why would you want a baby blue shark or a lime green widow??????

i think before you worry about the colour of fish you need to sort out the tank size!!!

what is the size, whats your water stats and have you cycled it propelley????

Godzuki has covered everything pretty well. I will add to the lime green fish thing. You probably can find them (and neon blue, orange, etc) around but they will be dyed fish, injected with dye or paint to give them those colors. It is a very cruel thing to do to fish and severely shortens their life. The color will also fade and they will return to their basic clear color (these are usually glass tetras). If you see them, don't buy them.
