Hi Everybody!

My name is Aaron and i an just getting back into the world of fish keeping. About 4 months ago, my Betta fish died and i didn't have the time to get back into the hobby. Now, with the end of the school year coming, more and more free time is coming.

Now i have a five gallon tank sitting idle right now on my stand. No water no nothing. Just the substrate, which is glass rocks/ river rocks. My filter (an Tetra 10i). And my decor.

What can i fill this tank with? I like Bettas, but it's only one fish. I seem to like schooling fish more (such as Tetras) but because of my tank size i think that the tank would not be big enough. Any suggestions are welcomed!

The other thing that i didn't do last time i had a fish was to cycle the tank. This time i will. Going to pick up a testing kit this weekend.

Thanks Everybody for your help!

Aaron

Welcome to the forum Hockeyrulz.
Once you are doen cycling that 10i you can stock your tank with a few of almost any tiny fish. For a tank that small, my own favorite would probably be some nice Heterandria formosa but golden teddies would also be a good choice.

I avoid putting my endlers into anything that small because they can completely fill a 45 gallon tank in a very short time with their breeding.

Thanks to everyone who is helping me out. Now that i think about it, I think i am going to stick with a Betta because of the size of my tank.
