What Can Be Acheived In 1.6g

Not sure what anybody is using for heating in their nano's, but I'm giving these Hydor Mini Heaters a try......
I'm not using any additional heating in my 3 gal. currently.

Min. temp is 22C and max. 25C (after finish of photoperiod). If temp drops much more than this I may invest in a heater but one with a thermostat to keep the temp. more stable (for the animals more than anything). The Newattino Plus is very small and keeps a constant 26C.

I don't know if any of you have seen these

But I thought they were pretty neat. You could probably keep a heater in there if need be.
That's a great looking little filter.

George do you know when the scapeing contest will be, ie. in a month or so or middle of next year, I need to get on and sort mine out if its going to be soon!

Al I'd be interested to see how you get on with that heater, seems far less intrusive that a normal type.

Anyone who whats to know the smallest standard heater I've found is the hydor theo, the 25w is only 6" long and is what I use in my nano. D'oh! have just googled the heater George mentioned, much smaller than the Theo and cheaper too!

How ironic, Nano's are the next BIG thing!! :)

I love the fact that nano's really make you think about how you are going to aquascape. It takes allot of thought and imagination that can be carried over to bigger aquascaping projects.
Space saving ,money saving ( if you only have one, AS IF!!!!) and less time maintaining then.

Graeme.

I fully agree Graeme, not that all my thinking gets me very far, but you're right, the smallest issue with a nano scape is magnified due to the size of the tank. Bigger scapes allow for a bit more 'imperfection'. And yes, I'm tempted to have more nanos! Am having to give a complete kit away to stop me getting in trouble for setting up another one!
