Flag Cichlids?
how many species are there?
how do they compair in temperment to other cichlids?
what can you keep them with?
are they african or new world?
what's the best to start with?

I've heard of the new world and africans,
I've even heard of dwarf cichlids but not flag cichlids,
so come on spill the beans.
Or is this a secrect that we're not ment to know?

same thing as a Festivum - come from the Amazon - they are not real agressive. here is a pic

so flag chiclids are just another name for the festivum and not a classification of chiclids like new world/african/dwarf.

thanks guys.

EDIT
ok I'm now confused (this is why i hate common names)
the flag chiclid Mesonauta festivum is called a festivum right.
I've just found under the common name flag chiclid Laetacara curviceps
which is obviously a different fish

so I say flag chiclids are a group, like dwarfs are a group and keyholes are another group.

could a chiclid expert please clarrify this, it's doing my nut in.

Laetacara curviceps is a Dwarf Cichlid, or Dwarf Acara and its common name is also Flag cichlid http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=140
Flag cichlids are given out as common names and isn't a group of fish, theres a few other families of fish that have fish with the common name Flag etc etc there is also the common Florida Flag Fish.

EDIT:Keyholes are a Dwarf Acara too :)
