So I have bred a lot of different pairs of kribensis but haven't seen anything like this. Situation may change really quickly. so heres the story. I have two pairs of kribensis in my aquarium, two of them formed a pair and bred and now i have about 2 week old fry from then but because i had to remove them as the numbers were diminishing quickly they blamed each other for the disappearance of the fry. So they fought and the same male paired up with the other female in the tank, (i suspect they might be related as i bought them from the same shop at the same time) so they laid eggs a few days later and the female stayed in the coconut cave with the eggs and the male was on the outside. Both quite a laid back pair and barely aggressive though they squabble between each other a bit. (to be expected) It has been about half a week and suddenly tonight, the female ran out the cave and turned completely pale and stressed to the max and was just swimming everywhere. The male didn't seem to care about what i thought was the eggs in the cave, i decided to have a look and their are no eggs or fry in the cave but the female has been acting as if their was and is back in the cave and acting like she has fry or eggs as well as the male.
so thing is the eggs would have been eaten at one point. But the questions are why is the pair acting as if they still have fry or eggs?? and what was with the sudden run out??
any opinions and thoughts wanted.
