i recently had to start over with my fish tank and i was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for some colorful fish that would do good in my tank. one of the fish i was thinking about getting was a kribensis. does anybody know if that would be good in my tank? any suggestions help. thanks! :D

It would help if we knew the size of your tank :)

You should be good with a pair of them, yeah

Make sure you have plenty of plants though.

Also bear in mind you'll probably need a higher pH

can i put anything else with them?

It would probably be best to avoid any other bottom/cave dwelling fish for if they breed and become aggressive but most community fish should be fine.

Kribensis don't need a high pH. They're an African RIVERINE species, not from the rift lakes.

Anywhere from a pH of 6-7.5, as long as its stable they'll be absolutely fine.

Chances are a pair will spawn if they're compatible, and if they do it'll be better to not have any other bottom dwellers.

Chances are in a 30 gallon tank other bottom dwellers would be fine but IMO not really worth the hassle if the pair gives them a hard time.

As far as tank mates goes, aim for larger tetras, round body tetras (lemons, red eyes etc), platties and swordtails, and barbs (tigers, black Ruby's (if you want colour this fish is for you), Odessa barbs etc.
