Sorry for the poor image quality (as usual, mobile phone camera). They're about an inch and a half, very active loaches with a long face. I have three of the little guys, which I thought were chain loaches. There was no label for them on the tank at the LFS. I've seen them almost "chasing" the other fish, as if they're trying to clean the sides of them, I've never seen them damage the other fish in any way. I'd love to get a few more to make a nice shoal, once I know what they are so I can identify them.

botia almorhae/botia lohachata

Commonly called yoyo loaches

they are yoyo loaches or pakistan loaches which to me are very fasinating. Ive got 2 of them and they always get inside the pump and bury themselves in gravel and go underneath the powerhead or other various crazy things

When they are young like yours, you can see why they are called yoyo loaches. It says "YoYo" right on the side of their body. Once they get larger, the pattern gets more complex and they lose the "YoYo". These fish are a lot of fun.

So all this time I've been trying to figure out what they are, and it says on the fish all along?

I love these fish. They even swim upside down under the fry-net for my guppies, trying to get the baby brine shrimp through the net. Most sources say that three is a good number for these guys, so I might keep only three, unless I see some a similar size.

Thanks for the ident!
