Age has very little to do with when it will be safe to release your fry into the main tank. Instead try to look at your fry in comparison to the main tank occupants. If you have a few larger fish like adult angels of gouramis, you will need to wait until the fry are at least 2 or 3 cm long. If you have nothing but guppies in the tank, you can release the fry at a mere 1.5cm length.
