Hi all,

Just wonder what age you would expect Apistogramma Agassizi to start showing breeding behavior.

My male, even though i've only had him about 4 months is constantly pesting the the two females at present and displaying to them. The females, just ignore him and then he chases them when they dont return in kind.

I'm just wondndering if this is mating behaviour, and if it is, at what age would you expect the females to show back in kind?

Cheers

Andy

With Dwarfs i would say around 6 months old, This could either be mating behaviour or mild aggression, do they tend to lip lock and circle each other head to tail at all?

No, the male starts to swing towards them, with all fins fully extended (sometimes he swims sidways at them), then ends up side by side (sometimes head to head, and otehr times head to tail). The females, just ignore him, then he looks like he gets board and then starts to chase them.
