I recently signed on this forum after a few months of viewing I then see some new members swearing and then I clicked on the members picture thread to find a naked man of which my grandson saw and he is now very distressed and in tears.
I then read some rediculous threads of which some talked about having sexual intercourse with fish.
I am appalled at this as it has effected not only me but my son very emotionally. I want an apology off the administrator of this site for emotional damage done to my grandson as now every time he thinks fishing he will think of that naked man.
I was going to put my problem in here relating to my recent loss of fish in my pond but now I shan't bother.
I'm going to sign up on another fish forum that talks about fish and does not have spamming idiots all over the place.

you were sworn at? how when this is your first post? its a forum and open to all sorts from the public domain and as such we do act as fast as we can when its seen..internet is full of idiots no matter where you go..good luck finding a spam free forum.

Yes I apoogise I meant to say that members were swearing at some others not me but when I signed up I did not expect to see all of this. I don't see why you as a moderator are condoning any of this because my grandson is very upset right now and will not go to sleep.
I still want an apology from either you or the owner of this site for letting this to happen if not I will be issuing a complaint to your server provider for being inadequate in your moderating and allowing such posts to be made.

As with most things on the internet you cannot be shielded completely from these idiots but I think it a little OTT to start making demands of apologies from admin of this forum.

If someone does something to you that causes upset then you go looking further into their postings then it may just be possible that they have the mentality to do thing such as you witnessed. Why bother to go looking We all have a responsibility to protect ourselves and sometimes that means ignoring and not go looking.

I am sure that time would be better spent explaining things in a way that children understand about what was witnessed and it's complete non connection with fishkeeping that to start issuing blame on admin.

Oh and before you ask, yes I have brought up children......very successfully and no I don't like these idiots any more than you but that's the internet for you unfortunately

The mods keep on top of the spammers on this board and are quick to remove any posts. I had sent a Pm to Black Angel and she removed the posts within a few minutes of me sending them.
I'm sorry that your grandson is upset but as with any website, it is best to monitor threads yourself before letting them read it.

You want me to monitor every thread before he can read it? That shouldn't be a problem just ask him to stand outside the room with his eyes close while I check this forum for any further pornographic images or any sick related posts.

I am sorry that this happened to you but this is a privately owned forum and the owner can allow whatever he wants here (he does not allow porn or profanity and it is removed as quickly as possible) so I wouldn't bother contacting anyone else to voice your dismay. Spam attacks happen on every forum. As Black Angel said, good luck finding a spam free forum.

P.S. I have been a member here since September of last year and have never witnessed anything like you have described above.

As Doresy said, you can't shield children from everything and you also tend to find most people spam late at night when they are bored and the forum is more active. My children aren't allowed on the computer after 9:00 as they are usually in bed so I've not had to worry about it. However, when I see a post has been answered by someone with a rude/offensive name, then I pretty much know that they are a spammer and would not let them read the thread.
Like I said, I'm sorry your grandson/son is upset but I hardly think it's the moderators fault.

Actually if you want your son/grandson to read things that do not contain things you wish him not to see on the net, then yes, you should censor things yourself and not pass the buck to the mods - take responsibility yourself.

And I agree with doresy - when someone has offended you, why bother digging further as to who they are and what else they may have posted.

Responsiblity for what exactly I came on here to look at fish not naked people my grandson was sat next to me while I was educating him on different types of fish because we are going on a fishing trip next summer.
I then went to the members picture gallery to show me with my latest catch 2 weeks ago but then saw this picture of which made my grandson burst into tears. I'm not the one to blame here and I don't understand what the woman above is on about viagra if you're a woman and have a love for fish your chances of getting into bed with some one are about as good as this forum making an apology to it's members.

I don't know what you're nodding about my son has been traumatised by all this and you are practically laughing at him and me. I find it appalling and disrispectful and want to know why on earth it took so long to get rid of these nude and horrific pictures.
