Fish Crazy
Hi everyone,
At present the lighting in my 36" by 12" wide by 18" high tank is very low - all I've got in it in terms of plant matter is a large piece of bogwood on which Java fern, Anubias and Java moss are attached. It's a great centrepiece and I feel that the rest of the tank doesn't do it justice.
Inspired by some of the stunning planted setups of tff (like those of gf225 and jimbooo) I'd like to go all out for a great (hopefully) planted tank.
Firstly, I need to change my lighting. I'm particularly attracted by the Arcadia Overtank Luminaires and was wondering if one of these (standard 36" T8 freshwater) would provide adequate lighting for the tank. I've found one for around £80 (inc. postage) here on ebay - is this a good price?
I really want to have one African Tiger Lotus Lily, and a plant called Lilaeopsis mauritiana as a carpeting plant - although if I can't get hold of this then I'll just use Echinodorus tenellus or something. And I'll probably end up using Amazon frogbit on the surface as I think it looks brilliant.
The substrate is currently all sand but I'm planning on mixing a lot of laterite and some peat into it as well as regular use of liquid fertillisers.
Does this all sound ok? Any suggestions much appreciated.
Cheers,
Luke.
