ok so my partner made a big mess up fish tank wise, and now to say sorry he going to buy me a 6ft fish tank. yay 
 
but having spent hours looking i have only found nd aquatics to do a 6 x 2 x 2 for just £400. i do not need stand or hood my partner is a carpenter, just tank. 
 
can you fishy savvy people recommend anywhere

Heard some relatively good things about aquariums ltd, there's also poseidon's palace.
 
If he's been really naughty you could also talk to somewhere like fitfiltration about acrylics.....

What about a second hand tank? I see them going all the time near me. I'd set up a saved search on ebay which gives you results within ____ miles of your home, depending on how far you want to travel. Just go to the fish section and don't put anything in the search bar, set the post code limit and ask it to send you email updates whenever something new is added.
 
The second option is to join some local facebook groups. I've got probably 5 in my local area that I've found so far and there are large tanks posted frequently. You can always post saying what you're looking for too.

I won a ~181x44x39cm (internal dimensions) last year on Ebay for just over £60, I've also won two 5-footers for ~£50 too.

I can vouch for ND Aquatics as well My 6 footer is from there, so well built its fantastic. If you go the second hand route just check all the seals and that all the brace bars are there.

thank you for all the replies guys and girls. sadly second hand of that size is not a option because it will not fit in the car and my partner only has a auto license so cost a fortune to hire a van, so might as well buy a new tank.
 
i message nd aquatics yesterday, i was quoted £310 for the aquarium, which is very good, so come on pay day. then i have to wait 6 weeks.

just paid 50% of cost, could of had tank tomorrow, but we not ready to receive it. so having to wait for him nd aquatics to have more orders.

 

 
so now prep work can start. 
 
e.g. building stand and hood - partner giving up lunch breaks for a week to build them.
 
and i may of found the wood for the tank but it require wellies to retrieve it so having to wait for partner to come home and help. well him falling though mud while i stand on dry soil and laugh.
