I'd psyched myself up to have new fish today... rang the lfs only to be told they hadn't managed to get the cories in as they weren't on the wholesalers list anymore.

So, feeling a bit bummed, went to the supermarket with a friend for some bits and pieces... and then went to the lfs and bought 8 rummy noses

Not sure if the manwife has noticed them in the bucket yet... but when he does I'll just have to tell him I needed my fish fix...

(might have to get more on Monday... I'm going past another store then... )

He spent £30 on petrol for someone else's car... but that was sanctioned, and is part of their car share agreement.

Anyway it's fine, it comes out of my "fish" savings account - it's not like it's money that I should've spent on food or the mortgage or anything

i went to the LFS to pick up some conditioner and a new filter. ended up coming home with 2 more cory cats! couldnt resist myself tbh.

Quick wc done, put a couple of bits of wood back in that I'd taken out, rummy noses are now in. I'm definitely going to add more on Monday, assuming the shop have some in.

Love rummy noses! Can't wait to get some more in my tank, bit for some reason everywhere round here has dried up! Can't seem to get any. Not any decent ones anyway

Rummy noses are my favourite fish although I think they might now be tied in first place with my corydoras...

The total number I'm aiming for is 50-60 I think. Should be awesome

I just remembered, when we were in the car, I informed the kids what we were doing and where we were going (it's only fair) and my eldest says: "why can't we just buy the fish at Asda?" and I said something along the lines of "which Asda are you going to that sells live fish for the fishtank?!" and she had a bit of a lightbulb moment bless her

how much you paying per rummy nose? because the neons i have aint shoaling i might swap to rummy nose but i can get 10 neons for £6 and rummys for only £1 each

Neons are not very good shoalers, unless they're scared. I found cardinals to be much the same - they just sort of hung out at the back of the tank and never really did anything.

£1 each is a good price for rummys, is that from a lfs or online? I found a place online that does them for ~£1 each but it would only be worthwhile if I bought 20+ once you take postage into account.
