I canceled my sky subscription just before christmas so TV was even worse then normal (though I dont normally watch Tv at all over christmas). Seems TV in general (in the UK at least) is complete rubbish. I canceled my sky subscription after looking through the moving channels and seeing films being played that where being played when I first got Sky (about 10 years ago!!!)
Personally I dont really bother anymore. There are one or two things I like on TV (Lost, BSG, heroes and umm thats about it at the moment) but with the money I save from the sky subscription its no big deal to just to go and buy the box sets when they come out.
I think TV as it is now really is a dying media. Most things I want to see are on the internet somewhere and I can then watch them as and when I want to. I see Channel 4, Sky and BBC are all starting to provide content on demand from their websites and this is the future of TV imo.
