Yesterday I was dusting the house, and, as I went into my room, I noticed my betta was beginning to create a bubblenest. Not too much, but still.. I watched him for a bit and then left to finish dusting.

That night I noticed the bubble nest hadn't gotten much more progress, so I went to sleep.

So, I woke up today and he had created a smallish bubblenest, although still one. The only other time I've seen him create a bubblenest was when I was bringing his cup home, and he's never seemed to want to make one after that. Why does he have this sudden interest?

He's building a bubblenest because he's happy and figures that the tank is good for spawning conditions (meaning it's pretty much ideal). It's a compliment to you.

Well, that's good. Even though if I did spawn I'd get a five gallon, but.. mer. This sunday I'm getting a tank for a female too, so, lucky him. :good: Keep in mind I'm not going to breed them the minute I get the female.

after i added plants to their bowls mine has been building bubble nest too...
