Weirs/overflow boxes

Mines pretty noisy aswell.

I'm going to try putting a course sponge at the bottom of the weir so it "cusions" the fall.

i dont have any spare lol,
i have done some research but, and they reckon a ball value, you turn the value so the inflow matched the pump and it shouldnt make a noise at all, but i still think it will

my plumbing has a valve in it and my 2 pumps are on full wack, the valve is fully opened.

so that doesn't really solve much, or I might just be geting the noise from the water falling down.

well to solve the water falling problem all u do is rasie the water line in your weir, by bringing up the inlet pipe as far as u want it, but for me it is the gurgling noise

just under 2ft and then in the box there's the single outlet hole which is 1 1/4" I noticed yours had both holes in the box.

yer it does one inlet and the other is the out with runs out the top and pumps it out the highest side of the weir, and im getting sick of this stupid bloody noise, driving me crazy

Ah ha, now i know what the extra pipe I had was for...

at the moment I don't have a water level in the box it just goes straight down the plug hole!!

I had what he describes what he first had a pipe with lots of holes.

I'll give that one a go. Cheers

I finished my bodge job of the standpipe today.

instead of using all those reducers then screwing it into the basem I used a hose tailpipe to reduce the flow down which i cut and shaved down a bit then slipped it inside the main tube. I had to cut the corner peice down a bit to fit it in the box but I put it in there a few minutes ago and the only noise now is coming from the water hitting the media in the sump.

Any solutions for that?
