Weird Disease

i had a pleco last year that had a large growth on his head. it was a big pinkish grey blob that litteraly looked as if his brain was growning out of his head. i slowly grew over one of his eyes. he was almost 10 years old so i don't think it killed him when he finally died. anyone know what this couldve been??

i'm no expert but i'd say it was a tumor.did it grow quickly or over a long period of time?

if it took a while i would say it was some kind of cyst but that quick i would say it was a tumor a some kind of fast moving parasite and i honestly think that whatever it was did contribute to his death.
