And finally the video :D

Enjoy

need some live plants or maybe some bogwood, or even better bogwood with some plants on. some anuba would be nice. nice tank tho.

There is 3 live plants in there already the wee fern thing up the back (don't know names of any of them :S)

And 2 down the front spiral thing on the right in the pic and the other big bushy thing on the left lol

i liked the bog wood think i may get a small bit don't wanna overcrowd the tank.

but i know i'll prob change it all about by the time i get new fish on sat ! lol

thanks for comments :D

i have 2 disagree i think a nice large piece of bogwwod in the middle and few more plants would just finish it off and create some hiding spaces for the cory's 2 :) as for the cory ID not 2 clear and no expert but they look like peppered :)

Your cory is a paleatus corydoras, or peppered catfish. It's the original version of the albino cory morph. I plan on getting a few of these myself. :)

Your tank looks nice! It's a good size for the fish you're keeping I think. Like the others have said it's a bit bare, maybe add some more plants at the back and sides, and have a centrepiece feature like bogwood or something they can hide in.

Take it from someone with a small tank, you should enjoy your tank decoration to the fullest because you have the luxury of space! :good: I've got live and fake plants covering the whole of the back of my tank, with a little faux anemone in the centre. My fish love it because they feel safe enough to come out of hiding and swim around, so long as they have the hiding place to go back to if something makes a loud noise or vibration.

Will prob get some more plants for the side and back got some backing for it tonight

Went to LFS with my granddad tonight rather than sat as i'm working ...Only went up for backing paper and to see what fish they had ended up spending £60!

I got

2 Paradise fish
1 Blue Dwarf Gourami
10 More Neons (the 5 i had looked so lonely :) )
6 Red Wags
3 Clown Loaches

Tank looks so much more livelier :D think that will be it stocked now unless i lose some

So proud hopefully get some pics of new inhabitants up this evening

Oh and see with the red wag's i think one of them may be pregnant as it's belly is Mahoosive compared to the others.

anyone know where i'll get a decent pic of one so i can compare it to mine to see how long before she pops ! lol

New Pic's !

My New Paradise Fish :D Bloody Gorgeous if i do say so !

Congrats on your new fish! Those are some nice colourful selections you got there! :)

I know the feeling on spending more than you expect! I always find one other thing that I need that I didn't have.

Red wags, good choice, that'll add a nice bit of colour to your tank, and they're nice peaceful fish. They'll get along with your loaches I suspect! Both playful fish.

But, dude I'm sorry, I gotta warn you now you should really keep an eye on that red wag that's all bloated, because you may actually have a sick fish there. It could be pregnant, yes, thats a possibility, but there's also a bunch of other things that make fish do that. If you've got time dude you might want to bag that fish and take it to your LFS, ask them what they think. Or post photos and ask the "forum experts" (but tbh dude the LFS is your better bet, some of the advice I've seen on here has been pretty poor).

Also watch your water stats and make sure your filters don't get overloaded by too many new fish at once. You're probably fine, bacteria grows quicker than most people seem to think but it's best to be on the safe side. Other than that I'd say you've got one of the better tanks on this site! :)

Nice tank. My only word of advice is to watch how many labyrinth fish you put into that tank. They are more solitary species fish.

Also, what kind of name is granny gourami for a male fish?? :D

Wow, I really have to challenge this comment, and ask who and where?

Most of the people on this forum have very good information. By far I would recommend this forum over any LFS, locally owned or not!

Kizz, get a picture up of the fish in question. First we can see and tell if it's female or not. The fish may be bloated but lets not jump to conclusions. If you are worried go a head and feed the tank a few cooked and de-shelled green peas. This will help to get the fish to pass a bowl movement. If it's not bloated it won't cause any problems. Vegitation is good for fish anyways!

He was Named By my 3 year old son ! lol My New Blue Dwarf is Called Grandad now so  lol Hopefully get some pics of him later on tonight aswell

i'll get my sis to bring cam along tonight so i can get some snaps

And to the guy who said that the advice on here was pretty poor ... I'd trust most of the info i get on here compared to the info i get from the LFS !

Most Lfs's Are only in it for the money and half of the people who work in them are just out of school and no nothing about what they're selling and advice they're giving

But if i can't get any pic's i'll take the red wag to LFS in the moring and see what she says and getting my water tested tonight as my testing kit hasn't arrived yet so BF is bringing down his one ..He said it's the one with all the test tubes ..So i'm assuming it's the liquid one that most people on here go on about

thank you for all the advice n comments on ma tank :D

Great photos Kizz!
Keep an eye on your Paradise fish as they can become very aggressive as they mature, especially with fish like Gouramies as they are from the same family. I can't tell from the photos what sex they are but you are best keeping one male per tank as they will fight with another male.
You will also need to provide more plants so that there are plenty of hiding places for a female and other fish. Mine were fine in a community tank until they matured, then it was World War 3! It wasn't until I researched myself, that I found they are best kept in a species only tank. :good:

nice new additions :good:

this should help with your platies :)

howtosexalivebearer.jpg

Female:
RED: shows the gravid spot, this is where the fry develop inside mum.
PURPLE: shows the female’s anal fin, notice the shape, very ‘fan’ shaped.

Male:
BLUE: shows the gonopodium (male sex organ) notice the shape is small and pointed.

if the fish in question is female, there is a sticky in the livebearer section by 5teady that is very helpful :D

Well just goes to show never trust LFS !!!!!!!!

She said they were 3 males 3 females just looked at pic then went and inspected the red wag's and low and behold ...I have 1 female and 5 MALES !!! :S

So i'm going to take 3/4 of the males back to her tell her sexing is #### !!

God dam these people really aggrivate me !! :grr:
