i know that parrots have a deformed swimbladder but over the past few day one of mine has got quite bad. hes always been a bit wobbly compared to the other one especially when the lights arent on. but now hes even more wobbly all the time. hes still mostly upright but every now and again seems to swim on his side and like swirl upside down. is this just a common thing that will get better and worse or is it something i can treat????

Have you tried feeding him peas. This can help fish that get swim bladder disease like parrots and silver dollars.
I feed mine peas once a week all my fish love them

depending on size you can unshell the peas also.

still a problem with the swimbladder, could someone give me the method they use when feeding peas please?
I boil for 5 mins then de-shell and finally chop them into smaller pieces.

Keith.

I do this as well.... I also soak my flake food in some of the tank water before feeding them.
I read somewhere that when flake food gets wet it expands which causing swim-bladder decease because fish eats it straight away and it expands inside them by soaking it first the food expands before the fish get to eat it. :D

ok so i just fed them some peas and they hoovered them up lol. how much should i feed them as im sure theyed have let me feed them the entire packet

fed peas a few times now and still no improvement so what other medications/treatments can i do????

Swim bladder problems alot of times are often caused by the fish suffering from food impaction.
Try not feeding him for a few days, believe it or not sometimes it works.
or try soaking his food in water for a few minutes before placing the food in the tank.
could also feed live/frozen food instead.

Are you sure he doesn't have any parasites/bacterial infection? They can also cause this.
