We Lost Little Flame

Thanks Laura.......she was a beauty

It goes against everything we try to do for our fish every day. And with computers these days...it's just not necessary. We fought so hard to keep Flame alive and they want to half kill one and bring it back to life. Someone even recommended using a Betta.

It's completely horrible... I was the first one to suggest clove oil and I did back up the betta idea because they're labyrinths - but this has gotten totally out of hand. What a stupid stunt... read my latest post.

Flame. Poor baby!

The thread on fish out of water. Can't help but think it isn't just someone messing with us. It just seems rather strange.

I thought that too at first but he's getting so defensive that I think he's serious...

Unfortunately I think he is very serious. Like the RSPCA website says "anyone responsible for any animal has a legal duty of care towards that animal"

I lost my Jerry on Thursday, had to euthanize, it's so sad but you know they had a good life and you did all you could

The RSPCA has the right idea - the problem is the people who don't think of fish as 'proper' or important animals.

EDIT: Devon, there's a guy over in Tropical Discussion who joined TFF to ask the safest way to film a fish out of water. He's on the production team of some arthouse movie and they 'need' to use a live fish to film a scene of a fish dying. He originally wanted to get a fish and actually put it on the ground and film it flopping around.. but now I think he's decided on keeping it in the tank and using clove oil to simulate death. A bit better I guess. But still screwed up altogether.

To right.....So at the end of the film instead of saying no animals were harmed in the making of this film.....will they put instead that the fish was killed or flushed down the toilet........I think not
