A while ago our cutteri (or possibly spillirum...) spawned, you may have read my post... Anyway, a few days later all the eggs had gone :(

Sometime last week we saw eggs again (same pair) and then a couple of days later they were gone again :( BUT - the pair were guarding a cave they had dug underneath some slate, so we thought they must have moved the eggs.

Yesterday we went off to meet a new prospective rescue dog, we loved him so brought him home with us, so was already hugely excited... and when we got home we found loads of little fishy babies!!! :hyper: It was almost too much for me to take - a new dog and our fish had babies!!

It's the first time for us so we are extremely proud

Yesterday they were kind of crawling around the sand mostly, and swimming a little bit. Mum kept picking them up in her mouth and spitting them back in the cave.

Today they are swimming much more, and have moved toward the front of the tank. We're really lucky they decided to take a corner at the front, right next to the sofa!

anyhoo, here's somepics and a vid for ya. Enjoy! :fun:

He's a collie x australian kelpie, 14 months old - a huge puppy! We've called him Ace. We also have another rescue, Silly a staffy x collie. We got her at 9 months, she's now nearly 3.

I'll post some pics up in the other animals section, so you can see them both!

Yay for rescue dogs! :good:

With regards to the fry, we're not going to do anything special with them. I've heard that cutteri are great parents so we're happy to see what happens! I think the parents a doing a great job so far (especially considering their tank mates!), all the other fish are confined to one corner of the tank, or the top half. They're even managing to keep the 10" pleco away!
