Way To Speed Up Cycling

Well I got told a certain liquid by 'Tetrastart' could speed up the cycling so it makes it cycle in around a week, is this true?

Or is the ONLY way you can cycle your tank is by adding ammonia and doing regular tests?

you guessed it, thats the only way and tetrastart is a gimmic

the only way i can think of is using mature media

oh by the way that stand is on ebay, for £15 so you could keep an eye on it if you want, you might pick it up cheaper.

The safestart is pretty hopeless IMO, tried it out a while ago now to see how it performed, it did a reasonable job of keeping ammonia low during a fish in cycle but the nitrIte went high for a long time and didnt make much difference in the long run, the only way you could try is by using it with a fishless cycle to see if it sped up the process by using it alongside a source of ammonia.

Have you tried asking an LFS for some used ( Unwashed) media either to buy or to have? Give it a go.
