Wavemaker Or Powerhead?

well i currently have an APS 1700lph power head and its pretty big and makes my lid vibrate so i have been looking to upgrade or just get a smaller unit etc know for the question

this is listed for marine tanks i just want to know why (more LPH, practically same cost, seems like a smaller unit) and as far as i can tell they both just move water around so is there any reason why i shouldn't get 1 of these rather then a power head?

Often the only difference is in the housing. Pumps for marine tanks often have ceramic parts etc. that resist the corrosive action of salt water. Other than that and packaging they really are often the same pump...
