Was just curious if you and oliver ever got around to getting fish?

The family and I...plus my neice...all went yesterday and got our new pets. 2 mollies..black and dalmation...and 3 platys firewag, sunset, and rainbow platy. Plus an apple snail. The LFS accidently gave me 2 males and a female platy, which of course 1 of the males had to bully everything in the tank so I switched the bully out for a female. Thankfully the LFS was nice about correcting their mistake. I hope the female recovers from the trauma of being harrassed for the past 24 hours..she's been hiding and wont come out. The other male is swimming around happily now...quite gleefully actually. Think he was glad to see the last of the bully!

Tested the water today and everything is 0 as it should be thankfully

I'm glad to hear everything is going well with your tank. The cubs will be happy?

With a male and 2 females, I bet you'll have lots of little platys soon.

yay, glad you're all sorted with fish now Lioness..... and no, i don't think WD has any fish yet told him, i'm gonna buy some and get them shipped to him if he doesn't get a shift on

I'm out of town but have logged in for a short bit and was gratified to see this. Lioness, we're so happy for you! I will be quite interested to hear how the kids have reacted to finally have the fish and what it is like for them watching the fish etc.

Certainly sounds like a happy tank and I'll hope to check on your new threads when I get back if the other members haven't already taken care of it all...

Oliver's tank has been pretty much ready for a while now. We coaxed the bacteria back to a good state after the tank broke and we set up the replacement one. The worst part has been that the plants didn't like being not rooted and they kept slowly dying, which I think added an extra ammonia load on and perhaps made the fishless a little harder to interpret. Even now, my nitrites don't want to get down to zero in 12 hours as perfectly as what I describe when I'm so freely handing out advice! We're not planning to fully stock immediately by any means (can anyone here imagine me doing anything quickly?, lol) though, so I'd have no qualms getting some zebras and some others in there. No, the problem now has been that I don't like the stocks I'm seeing when I visit the LFSs and have cold feet picking out a web dealer .. plus I'm still playing with the plants and you know how picky I can get thinking about things... ...so you can picture Oliver's tank sitting there running perfectly, with some plants and everything but still no fish!
