What should water reading be for mollies as in Ph and all that? Should they be high or low? Just wondering. I have been hearing so many different things that I'm getting confussed on what the water readings should be. Some say the ph should be low and other people have told me they should be high. Could someone give me some of there reading on what they have in there fish tanks for mollies and how they got there readings. Do life plants help the tank better then fake Plants.????

Here is a good profile on black mollies.

Most livebearers will do fine with the water you have, it is easier to keep fish according to your water parameters, rather than keep water to the fish's needs. The right way to go about changing water parameters is to get a ro unit, & reconstitute the water to the needed parameters.

Unless you have really soft water, ph adjusting additives will just cause ph swings, a real bad thing for fish. If your ph is way acidic or alkaline, you have the chance to keep the sort of fish a lot of people can't.

Tolak

Hardness: 150-180 ppm
PH: 7.2 - 7.6
Temp: 78%

Also, remember mollies like the water a little brachish too!

I read on a water testing kit that mollies like a ph of 8. My ph is 7 - 7.5 and they are fine. :)
