Water Test Results

Hi all, can you please take a look at my test results to see if there ok?...this is the first time i've had a testing kit


Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0.25
PH 7.8
Nitrate 15

Are you cycling the tank? Is there any fish in the tank? How long has the set up been running?

Nitrite should be at 0 if your Not cycling. The rest is fine.

Hi Qays, theres 9 fish in my tank but about 3 weeks ago moved them into another tank using a new filter and just threw the old sponge into the new tank

Yup, those results are fine. NitrIte should be 0 but 0.25 won't do any harm and will sort itself out.

Yup.. water changes will solve it.

If i remembre corectly, you also are battling ich in your tank right now, correct? If so, i would definately recomend you begin daily water changes until the nitrite is at zero. Your fish are stressed right now and are fighting a disease. Giving them pristine water quality will help them fight the disease.

if hes treating the ICH then thats bad advice cos it will take the meds out the water.


if not then water changes are ya best bet but .25 isnt much to worry about for a couple of days.

No, he can do water changes before redosing the tank if necessary, and also can replace the meds that was removed through a water change if the med is a use once and wait a week.
