hi all,

I've kept my betta in a 1 gallon bowl for 2 years. Occasionally, not often, the water will smell like fish, even though we still change out the water completely every week.

Any reasons why the smell occasionally?

thanks!

does the bowl have gravel in sometimes the gravel gets real manky for no reason :good:

I have a one galleon bowl, when I used to change the water once a week it used to smell fishy sometimes and not other times. Now I change the water every third day and it doesn't do that. I'm in a dorm room, and it seemed that when the heat was on particularly high that the water would tend to get smellier. Also, it seemed to depend on what food I was feeding Professor Chaos.

Try more water changes that should cure the fishy water. :)
Apart from that I dont know what it could be.

thanks for all your replys

I think it did start when the weather has gotten warmer and the windows are open.

I'm not sure if he's been real well lately either, kinda lazy hanging at the bottom alot.....thot maybe it could be associated with illness too...
