Water Is Below Heater Water Line

Got my 55g stand, set up tank. The water is about 1 inch below the "water line" on heater. Will this causr any serious consequences?

Yes. The heater can overheat and crack. Then you could be dealing with electricity in water. Your best bet is to keep the heater below the water line. the cord can go in the water. You don't need the top sticking out.
