Ok, so I noticed that my heater wasn't working anymore and I found out that there's water in it. I did have to set it diagonally but I always kept the top of it out of the water... So is it broken for good now? This is already my second heater and I'm getting tired of buying heaters. Any info is great thx.

Yes, its broken. Please dont try to use it again. Buy a new one.

It looks fried... There is like brown stuff in it and what not...

Would they take it back at the store? I just got it like 3 days ago.

yeah if you have only had it 3 days then i would take it back. does it say not to submerge it or anything like that on the box? otherwise guessing its a faulty heater

Well it says that it has no warranty unlessit doesnt work or the glass is broken and you can see that the wires are fried.. You think I would get a new one? I don't think so.

If it has water in it, it wont work. Take it back.

yeah but they wont take it back will they? cause it was my fault that it's broken I guess cause it got water in it. It didn't have it already in there.

if you have your receipt they should atleast exchange it if not give you a full refund. With it getting water in it I would say you should take it back as a heater that is designed to go into an eviroment that water evaporates then it should be protected from getting water init. Really unless it says not to be used in an aquarium then you are full within your right to get an exchange.

But maybe consumer law in canada maybe different from the uk

Thx jungle king I guess that makes sense. I think I might try anyway.

You could always call them before you go over their to save money on gas if they say no.

As long as it was for USE in an aquarium, They should give you a new Heater.

Providing you didn't Submerse a Heater that was only made to hang on the tank, instead of being put under water?

If they don't want to give your Money Back or exchange it I wouldn't buy another one off of them.

I'd go some place else and Get me a Visi Therm, the best Brand I've ever used, and they LAST A Long Time.

The Longest I've had them last is 8 years, and the shortest is 3 years.

Which sounds a little longer then your luck with heaters has been.

Visi Therms can be a bit pricey but they are worth the extra money.

They average $20 - $25.00 USD for a 100 - 150 Watt Heater.

I hoped this Helped? :)
