:crazy:
AAARghhhh im doing too much reading ma heads a spinning :S .
Just finished my weekly tests after a water change and my readings are
nitrate <.3
nitrite =0
amonnia =0
ph >8
gh =18
kh (this is bit htat concerns me) =6
now on reading to much do i need bicarbonate of soda or baking powder are they the same.
and also ive got quite a bit of bogwood in there at the mo from my old tank as the lfs is letting me down on supplying lavarock will this lower my kh. last but not least is my gh high enough.
sorry to annoy yall again by asking yet another chemistry question -_-

Bogwood lowers your pH so it might lower your Kh but you don't really have to worry about ur pH that much some people keep Africans at 7 no prob. :)

Your PH is good, your KH is a little low but nothing to worry too much about, a bit of baking soda will do the trick if you wish to raise it. Not baking powder! Baking soda is calcium bicarbonate. Your GH is pleny high (lake malawi actually isn't that hard).
