My Keyholes have spawned again and I was wondering if anyone has done water changes while their fish were guarding eggs? I'd have thought that the disruption would have scared the parents into eating their eggs. I might leave it until the eggs hatch or the eggs get eaten anyway (they have done so many times bafore but I want to give them the best chance possible).
Any advice?

What's your usual regime and how often and how much do you change? A few days won't be too bad unless you're badly overstocked.

I'm well understaocked and nicely planted. I usually have <5mg/l nitrate. I usually change 80 - 100 litres of water a week. It's usually a Friday job.

When doing your water change take out a little less water than usual and dont vacume the substrate, this way the disturbance to the pair is minimal and shouldnt cause them to eat the eggs.
