Water Changes

whether 50ppm of nitrate is damaging depends on the species though. Some more sensitive species cannot tolerate nitrate higher than 20ppm I understand. I remember coming across one that couldn't tolerate above 10ppm (can't remember what it was sorry) I knew that was out for me though as my tap water has 10ppm. When I kept goldfish people always recommended under 20ppm, 40ppm being a maximum, which was difficult for me as my tap water at the time (since moved) was 20ppm.

Hope it doesn't contain salt either but a Google search would only come with what people use to detoxify nitrite (as in individual fish-keepers at home) rather than chemistry buffs. Maybe contact Seachem and ask?

it does contain salt, just not NACL, it contains hydrosulfite salts, no idea what the heck that is though....

Sodium thiosulfate, hydromethane sulfinate, and some trade secret ingredients which may or may not contain salt.
