I change the water of my betta's tank two times a week. The tank sizes are: 1 gallon, 2 gallon, 2.5 gallon, 2.5 gallon. The other one is in a 10 gallon, which currently DOES need to be cleaned.. but haha. Anyway, is there any way I could minimize to once a week? It seems so stressful on my bettas and I sure don't want to hurt them, but the water starts to smell after a bit.

You could pop a small filter in their tanks, providing it isn't too strong. And a few hardy live plants (anubias nana, java fern, java moss etc.) can help control nitrates. :)
