I have roughly 30 mixed guppy & platy fry in a 10 gallon tank, they're about 4 week-old now
I'm currently changing approx 10% twice a week.
Is that enough, or should I be changing more?

i have a 10 gal with about 75 1-3 week old mollie fry and i just use an airstone hose to siphon all the uneaten food and poop off of the bottom about.... umm.. like 2 times a week. so i would say that 10% twice a week. other might be more strict with water changes, but im not. as long as the fry are happy! :fish:

Thank you.
I siphon as much poo out as I can as well.
They're all doing well, no losses.... so far.
I can't see me saving as many fry in future though, they're hard work!

I'd personally be doing a 25% water change a week. I suppose it's down to you though, everyone's different.

Edit: just read you do a 10% w/c twice a week - that should be fine. :good:

I'd be doing a lot, lot more than that. Fry release hormones into the water that stop them growing once it reaches a certain concentration, so they need a lot more water changes than adult fish of the same size, or they'll end up stunted.

I do 50% at least two or three times a week, preferably every other day, in fry tanks.

I didn't know about the hormone thing.
I 'll up the changes from now on, thank you
